The cuisine of New Orleans is the original fusion food formed by the influence of French, Spanish and Italians as these cultures colonised, lived and traded in Louisiana. The flavours were further developed with spices introduced by people of colour from Africa and the Caribbean brought over as slaves and trading with Native American Indians making a style of food and cooking unique to anywhere else in the world. You’ll find all the classic dishes on our menu like gumbo, jambalaya and slow roasted ribs.
At The Moldy Fig we believe in fresh is best. Every dish on our menu is crafted by us from beginning to end with all stocks, sauces, and spice mixes made in house to ensure the quality and freshness of every dish.
We source our produce from local suppliers and ensure all eggs, chicken, beef and pork are free range. All our seafood is sourced with sustainable practices from Tasmania.
Food Allergies and Dietary Requirements
We believe in making it easy for anyone to dine out and this was an important consideration when constructing our menu. That means lots of tasty vegetarian and vegan options and sticking with the traditional methods of cooking with corn flours to keep our menu highly accessible for gluten and dairy free diners. Don’t worry if you’re a meat lover we’ve got you covered too!
